hey braved the deep blue ocean and arrived on the shores of a land of opportunity, America. Filled with expectancy and hope they traveled west by schooner or train to seek the fulfillment of their dreams. The rolling prairies of Kansas beckoned them on. Kelly be- came their final destination and here they homesteaded and built their homes. Nor was God forgotten. The first church burned but was soon replaced by the beautiful edifice which now overlooks and blesses the homes and fields of their children's children. To the memory of these hardy pioneers and to our parents, who follow in the footsteps of their fathers, we dedicate this year book.

Our class symbolized what an ideal all around group should be. Following our motto, "Without Labor Nothing Prospers," we worked hard to achieve this ideal. We were neither extremists, nor indifferentists, nor did we follow the middle road. Outstanding in good, absent in bad, gay in spirit, and stalwart in example we were one of the most colorful classes K.H.S. has ever seen.

When we leave our classes for the last time we shall continue to follow the course we have chosen. There will be a great diversity in the vocations we choose but the spirit of hard work and high personal incentive will remain. We may not make any spectacular contribution but we shall have done our part. Our lives will be far apart but our spirits shall be as close as in our school days.
